About This Spot
Sheila Mae's Town Fryer feels like a warm embrace on a quiet Burlington morning. Stepping through its doors at 116 N Main Street, you enter a space where time seems to slow just enough to savor the unhurried rhythm of a small town breakfast joint. The air carries a faint sweetness, hints of cinnamon and fresh coffee weaving through conversations and clinking dishes. It’s the kind of place where locals gather, friends greet each other with easy smiles, and laughter bubbles naturally between tables.
This is a spot that wears its hometown heart openly—a cozy refuge where the pace honors the day’s gentleness and the friendly chatter fills every corner. The crew moves with familiar steadiness, balancing a bustling kitchen and the warm attentiveness of a neighborhood team that knows many names and stories. Here, there’s comfort not only in the food but in the simple human exchange that makes any visit feel like a return to a familiar gathering.
Breakfast at Sheila Mae's isn’t just about fueling up; it’s about savoring moments. Whether it’s the rich aroma of superior coffee refilling your cup or the sight of a cinnamon roll that’s generously sized and just sweet enough to feel like a treat, the menu sketches memories more than meals. Classics arrive at the table with a heartiness that reminds you of early mornings spent sharing stories over platefuls of home-style favorites—the kind of dishes that linger in both belly and soul long after the last forkful.
The atmosphere invites you to lean into slow mornings, order more than you planned, and linger over the comfort of familiar faces. Weekends might bring a steady hum of happy voices, the joyful closeness of regulars, and the delightful warmth of a place that’s woven into the fabric of its community. Here, the charm comes not from flash but from honest food, steady hands, and a genuine welcome—simple, unpretentious, and deeply rooted in Burlington’s small-town embrace.

The best breakfast in town. Food is always spot on and fresh. Very nice crew. A very warmth and family friendly restaurant.

The food was awesome all around. The service was great. Everybody seemed happy.. definitely a small hometown feeling. I would guess a lot of regulars visit there as the staff and the guests are very friendly and always laughing and joking.. We will definitely be back.

1st timers. We recommended to try the cinnamon roll. Menu is deceiving, because it says rolls. I ordered one, my son ordered two! The were HUGE. Very delicious, my only complaint is they were not served warm. Coffee cup was always full. The chicken fried steak and eggs showed up about 15 minutes later. Would have been nice to all eat together, but everything was amazing. Great staff. Definetly plan to be back, there were A LOT of great menu items, not to mention I didn't notice the specials until after I placed my order. Great place to grab a bit to eat! Highly recommend!

Consistently good food and fair prices with a cozy, small-town atmosphere. While the staff can be a bit reserved at times, the service is dependable and the overall experience is enjoyable.

The food is always SO GOOD, and the owner, Sheila, is always very nice. Jamie has taken care of us most of our visits and couldn't be happier with her service. If you're in Burlington, looking for a place to grab a bite for breakfast, I strongly recommend you stop here. It fills up quick on the weekends, but it's worth the wait if you can't get a table right away. Don't forget to bring cash to pay, but if you do forget, there's an atm inside. We look forward to coming back - again and again and again!

A great place with delicious food, and at a good price too. The staff was friendly, we got our food super fast, and breakfast was wonderful. The old diner atmosphere was nice too. Highly recommended.

One of Burlington's best restaurants! The food is of the highest quality and there is plenty of it. We favor breakfast. The only shortfalls are limited parking...on the street and the restaurant could be bigger, but there is no space to enlarge.

SERVICE- the staff was very friendly and helpful~ the food came out within 15 minutes. ATMOSPHERE- the inside is sooo lovely! Just like a classic old diner and very cozy~ perfect for family/ friend meals! It feels very calm and its not loud even when it's half full. Ill also note that they don't accept card so you'd have to pay with cash (and they do have an ATM right inside which is helpful for that). FOOD- my friend said their hasbrowns were really good and thought their pancake decor was super cute~ my food was also super yummy and we both agreed it was very filling for the price! I will be coming here again because as you've probably seen in all the other pictures, they all look extremely delicious
